I only have a few books left to read on my classics club list and looking at them I’m not surprised I keep putting them off! But luckily there’s going to be a spin which is just the inspiration I need to get one of them read. The spin will be spun on October the 17th and whichever title falls on the number chosen must be read and reviewed by the 12th December.
- Tristram Shandy by Laurence Stern
- The Book of the City of Ladies by Christine de Pizan

Just my luck if it lands on number 14!
I loved Les Miserables, but if you’re wanting to avoid it I hope the spin picks something else for you! Good luck.

I’m just worried about the length of time, I’m a very slow reader!

I enjoyed Les Mis, but it did take me ages to read. If it is number 14 I’ll get Lady Chatterley’s Lover – not as long. Good luck!

Eugene Onegin is the one that appeals to me the most. I hope you get that!

Hah, I see you’ve tried to trick the CC Gods by only including Les Mis once! If my sad experiences of the Spin are anything to go by this guarantees it will be the one… 😉 I’m kinda hoping you get Tristram Shandy though – it’s one my brother tries sporadically to force on me, but he’s not one of my trusted recommenders (he has extremely odd tastes sometimes), so I’d like to get your take on it!

why did I include Les Mis, ridiculous of me! I’d be happy about Tristram, they’re usually good romps aren’t they?!

Hmm, Balzac, eh? Intimidating but intriguing… 😀

I’m going to put something short on #14 just in case you’ve jinxed the list!

Well, spinning #12 was a lucky escape for you, Jane. Can’t say I’m keen to read Les Mis, but I will say that I like some of the songs from the stage show 😉
